Headaches

Cervicogenic Headaches refers to ‘a headache caused by the neck’. These types of headaches are common and are usually accompanied by restricted neck movement (stiffness) and neck pain. Our experienced physiotherapists are trained in the assessment and treatment of cervicogenic headaches.

Physiotherapy treatment involves joint mobilisations and soft tissue release techniques including massage, dry needling, and acupuncture. These techniques are effective in the treatment of cervicogenic headaches.

Specific exercises are individually prescribed and aimed at restoring neck and upper back mobility and improving postural strength and awareness. These exercises and the education provided aim to reduce the likelihood of these headaches occurring again in the future.
